SafeBase
441 43rd Ave, San Francisco, California, 94121, United States
Overview
SafeBase offers an AI-driven platform that automates security questionnaires by reading, interpreting, and automatically responding using models trained on security documentation. The product includes a rules-based engine for customer access and dashboards that surface insights and analytics on an organization’s security posture. Co-founders Al Yang and Adar Arnon met at Harvard Business School; the company was accepted into Y Combinator during the pandemic and is based in San Francisco. SafeBase serves roughly 700 customers, including Palantir, LinkedIn, Asana and Instacart, and has 55 employees. The company competes with vendors such as Conveyor, Kintent, and Quilt. SafeBase recently completed a Series B and plans to use a significant portion of the new capital to expand the team. SafeBase offers a portal that automates and centralizes the vendor security-audit process, allowing vendors to present their security posture to prospective buyers. Its workflow handles NDA signing with electronic signatures, document review and a dashboard that shows progress and outstanding items. The product is designed to shorten sales cycles by making security reviews proactive and transparent and to complement security-scoring services by supplying the underlying documentation. Launched in 2020, the company says it has over 100 customers and that ARR has grown 7x in the last six months; customers include LinkedIn, Snyk and Instacart. SafeBase nearly doubled headcount to 15 employees and invested early in a head of people to support diversity hiring. With the new capital the company plans to hire more and further develop the product.
