Overview

Sahl is an Egyptian fintech bill-payment platform founded in 2020 that lets users recharge prepaid cards and pay household utilities. It directly integrates with multiple government entities and major telecom operators, including the Egyptian Electricity Holding Co., the New Urban Communities Authority, Vodafone, WE, Orange, Etisalat, Petrotrade, and Cable Network Egypt. Since launch the startup says it serves over 12 million customers per month and 15 million households in Egypt. Sahl uses NFC technology to allow consumers to recharge prepaid cards from home and has expanded into B2B with a Services Gateway that aggregates bill payment services and an Acceptance solution for merchants. The company plans to improve existing offerings, develop new financial services, and form strategic alliances to enable new distribution channels, collaborative technology ventures, and co-marketing opportunities. After launching in the UAE, Sahl aims to strengthen its presence in Egypt and broaden its regional reach.
