Sand to Green regreens deserts by combining agroforestry with desalination-driven irrigation. Its core offering pairs desalination of sea and brackish water with drip irrigation and a natural hydro-retainer to rationalise water use. The company develops agroforestry software to collect field and satellite data for daily management and monitoring of plantations. It plans to create new arable land in Morocco, offer plantations as green investment products, and provide agronomic expertise, operations, and commodity production services to investors. Sand to Green has been testing resilient, adapted farming systems for three years in target areas including Guelmin-Oued Noun, and announced the creation of 20 hectares of arable land in Q1 2023. Following a $1 million seed raise from business angels and funds such as Katapult and Catalyst Fund, the startup will continue R&D on desalination and measuring soil re-fertilisation.
