Scone
123 Meechu-ro, Incheon, 21415, South Korea
Overview
Founded in 2018, Scone develops and operates virtual intellectual property by combining in-house 3D motion-capture technology with live-streaming production tools. The company has launched roughly 40 virtual characters, including the VTuber group “Meechu,” giving it one of the largest virtual character portfolios in Korea. Scone’s model allows human artists to co-create content while the company centrally manages the IP, generating revenue through live donations, merchandise, advertising, and secondary content adaptations. In 2024, revenue from its virtual IP division grew more than four-fold year over year. With fresh capital, Scone plans to extend its IP into games, web novels, webtoons, AI chatbots, and trading card games while also pursuing virtual IP partnerships in Japan, China, and Taiwan. Ongoing collaborations with past strategic investors Naver D2SF and SM Culture Partners are expected to accelerate these initiatives. The company positions itself as a platform enabling creators in overlooked sectors to establish new stages through virtual technology.
