SeaBubbles is developing eco-friendly speed "bubbles" that can "fly on water" to supplement ground transportation in urban areas. The concept is positioned as an alternative urban transport solution without noise or pollution. The company already has one prototype and plans to use new funding to build a second, faster prototype. SeaBubbles raised €10 million from the MAIF Avenir investment fund to accelerate that development. The startup plans a world tour to demonstrate the new prototype, beginning in Paris on the Seine and then visiting cities in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the US through the end of 2018. A few months earlier the company completed a €3 million raise.
