SEEVA develops patented washer-fluid heating systems and other products that automatically clean bugs, dirt, sand, dust and snow from windshields, LED headlights, cameras and more. Its technology is already in use by New York’s snowplow fleet. The company is positioning those products to improve driver and rider confidence in autonomous vehicles by helping hardware and software see the road more clearly. SEEVA is concentrating on the self-driving car market and has made several strategic hires, including former Toyota Japan and Johnson Controls executive Derrick Redding as chief operating officer. The startup graduated from Techstars’ Mobility accelerator and is based in Bellevue, Wash., and Detroit. SEEVA announced a $2M seed investment to support its push into the autonomous vehicle industry.
