Senodis Technologies commercializes Ceracode®, a ceramic-ink marking and identification solution designed for hot-formed metal components where conventional marking fails at high process temperatures. Ceracode® enables individual component marking and end-to-end tracking even under difficult production conditions (temperatures above 800–900°C, deformation, abrasion), and allows linking process parameters to single components. The technology was developed with the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems (IKTS) and transferred to operational use in a pilot with a leading global automotive manufacturer. Senodis spun out from Fraunhofer IKTS in October 2019 and is developing additional products for digital tracking in other areas of the metal industry. Following its seed raise, the company plans to roll out Ceracode® commercially, expand national and international marketing, and open new application areas within the metal industry.
