  • MAIA

    Led · Equity · Jul 2026

MAIA (formerly Prodlan) provides an AI-powered platform that ingests and indexes companies' technical documents and know-how to make them easily findable and usable via subscription licenses. Founded at the end of 2021, the company pivoted from a broader digital toolbox to focus on an AI assistant for industrial and technical enterprises. MAIA serves several dozen enterprise customers across Germany, Austria and Switzerland in sectors such as machinery and plant engineering, shipbuilding suppliers, rail infrastructure, plastics, medical and security technology, and reports more than 3,000 users. The startup sells its software via paid subscriptions and reports annual revenue in the mid-six-figure range. The team has grown to about 15 employees and intends to expand technology, sales and marketing headcount in Berlin, Zürich and neighboring countries while keeping the core team in Leipzig. MAIA emphasizes that customer data is hosted on German and European servers.

  • Birdsview

    Participated · Seed · Jul 2026

Birdsview builds Avys, an AI system designed to run e-commerce retention messaging end to end, replacing the need for separate CRM tools and agencies. Founded in 2023 by data scientists Tim Kuesters and Ozan Brochwitz-Tuerker, the product intelligence layer underpinning Avys was trained alongside its first hundred customers and now spans 1.2 million labelled products across 60 industries. The company reports Avys learns from 52 million email interactions per month and claims brands using it see three times more clicks and eight times more revenue per email. Birdsview positions Avys as an agent that decides what to say to each customer, when to send messages, and writes individualized emails in the brand’s voice. The startup argues its data moat grows with each customer and says leading retailers have replaced both their email tools and agencies with Avys.

  • Fusion Bionic

    Participated · Seed · Jun 2026

Fusion Bionic develops and commercializes Direct Laser Interference Patterning (DLIP) to imprint nature-inspired micro- and nanostructures directly onto material surfaces without coatings or chemical etching. The company was spun out of Fraunhofer IWS in 2021 and is positioning itself to supply turnkey industrial machine solutions at scale. It reports ongoing customer projects in Asia and a strategic cooperation with MOL Solutions Inc. Fusion Bionic is expanding into markets including semiconductors, consumer electronics and large-scale photovoltaics. The recent financing package totals €8.2 million (a €5.8 million seed round plus €2.4 million for industrial projects) to support global scaling and industrialization. No revenue or user metrics were disclosed in the announcement.

  • Pacifico Biolabs

    Participated · Series A · May 2026

Pacifico Biolabs develops protein ingredients using mycelium fermentation technology and produces them in standard beer brewery fermentation tanks rather than purpose-built bioreactors. By repurposing existing brewery infrastructure the company seeks to lower production costs and scale more quickly using underutilised fermentation capacity. Pacifico positions its product as a domestically produced protein alternative to imported feed protein, aiming to shorten supply chains and reduce environmental and geopolitical exposure. The company plans to scale production in Saxony, Germany, expand its team, and roll out commercial launches across the DACH region and Nordic Europe, targeting retail launches by late 2026. The recent €7 million Series A will fund those near-term expansion and commercialization efforts.

  • Primogene

    Participated · Seed · Apr 2026

Primogene develops and operates an enzymatic biomanufacturing platform to produce structurally complex biomolecules identical to their natural counterparts, including HMOs like DSLNT and difucosyllacto‑N‑tetraose I. The company manages the full value chain—enzyme development and production, biotransformation, and downstream processing—at its facility in Leipzig. It emphasizes enzymatic processes to overcome limitations of fermentation approaches and to enable scalable, cost‑efficient production of complex ingredients. Primogene holds an IP portfolio across several product categories and has established commercial partnerships in the personal care sector while pharmaceutical raw materials are in advanced customer evaluation. Founded in 2023, the company is expanding production capacity, growing its team, and seeking joint development partners among infant formula and functional food manufacturers. It is also collaborating with Fraunhofer IZI on infection‑prevention research and working with neonatal intensive care units to monitor HMO concentrations in breast milk.
