Sequence Bio is a life sciences data and analytics platform based in Newfoundland and Labrador. The company closed a $1 million seed financing round. Killick Capital accounted for $500,000 of the total, and Pelorus Venture Capital had made a contribution back in July; Sequence Bio is also backed by Klister Credit Corp. Sequence Bio announced a partnership with the government of Newfoundland and Labrador to focus on health-care outcomes and commercial research and development in the province. The government support is intended to aid the company's commercial R&D efforts and to help engage 100,000 voluntary participants in a large-scale initiative. CEO and founder Dr. Tyler Wish said the company is focused on improving patient outcomes and growing as a local company in the global market.
