Overview
Shop.co offers a patent-pending universal cart and checkout browser extension that lets shoppers in the US add items from any online retailer to a single unified cart. The extension enables checkout across multiple stores at once, avoids registration and login steps, and automatically applies coupons when available. Co-founded by Jay Habib and Manuel Schoebel, the company opened its German office in February 2015 and expanded to the United States a year later to prepare for a US market product launch. Shop.co closed a $7M seed round and is now valued at $27M. The product is positioned as a solution to streamline online shopping and reduce checkout friction. The company lists Düsseldorf, Germany and San Francisco, CA as bases. Shop.Co offers a browser-extension personal Buy Button that uses AI to complete purchases on any retail website without prior retailer integration. The product provides a universal cart for comparison-shopping, a global dashboard that collects receipts and store communications, and an inbox that reduces spam by centralizing order information. Payments, addresses, and preferences are stored in 128 AES‑encrypted servers and transactions are executed via end-to-end encrypted communications. The extension is available free for Chrome during public beta, with Firefox, Safari and mobile browser versions planned soon. Features include one-click buying, automatic coupon application, and the ability to connect with Amazon to preserve Prime benefits. Financially, Shop.Co has just secured additional seed funding as it launches its public beta.
