Founded in 2020 and based in St. John’s, SiftMed builds AI-powered software that ingests, structures and analyzes thousands of pages of medical records to surface supporting evidence for medical claims reviews. The platform aims to speed decisions that can take human reviewers hours to days down to as little as two hours, depending on the review type, while reducing missed facts. SiftMed’s 30-person team includes clinicians and former Verafin staff, and the company’s founders include CEO Holly Hill and co-founder Dr. Jeremie Larouche. Staircase Ventures has highlighted strong commercial traction, saying SiftMed is more than doubling revenue every six months. The startup has raised nearly CAD $11 million to date and plans to use its latest CAD $5 million seed round to expand its product reach and pursue a larger Series A within 12 to 18 months.
