Silverfort

2 Leonardo da Vinci St., 40th Floor, Landmark TLV Tower, Tel Aviv-Yafo, 6473309, Israel

Overview

Silverfort provides a vendor-agnostic identity protection platform that enables modern identity security across on-prem and cloud environments. Its patented technology connects to enterprise identity silos in hours to map infrastructure, analyze security posture, inspect access attempts in real time, and enforce active inline policies as a centralized enforcement engine or ‘second opinion.’ The platform extends protection to systems other solutions cannot secure—legacy systems, command-line interfaces, service accounts (non-human identities), and IT/OT infrastructure—while operating invisibly without modifying protected devices or applications. The company is led by co-founder and CEO Hed Kovetz and has local teams in more than 15 countries, with solutions used by hundreds of leading enterprises including multiple Fortune 50 companies. Financially, Silverfort raised $116M in a Series D, bringing total capital raised to $222M. The company plans to use the funds to expand its platform with new product modules and accelerate its go-to-market strategy with an emphasis on channel partnerships. Silverfort provides a platform that works alongside existing identity management products to cover identity services and machines that are otherwise uncovered across enterprise IT silos and legacy systems. The platform takes a snapshot of a company’s machines and observes authentications to deliver Threat Detection and Response (ITDR) and Identity Threat Prevention (ITP) capabilities. Its approach is patented and operates as a “second opinion,” receiving forwarded authentications from other ID platforms rather than replacing them. Customers include Singtel, Samsonite and UPS among a total of more than 200 customers, roughly half of which are based in the U.S. The company reports 2.5x year-over-year growth overall and 3.5x growth in the U.S.; it says the new funding will be used to expand. The Series C brings total financing to over $100 million and the valuation for this round was not disclosed (PitchBook’s last estimate was $150M in August 2020). Silverfort offers the industry’s first agentless, proxyless authentication platform that enforces Multi-Factor Authentication, Risk-Based Authentication and Zero Trust policies across on-premises and cloud systems. Its architecture requires no agents, SDKs or proxies and includes an AI-driven risk engine that automatically adjusts policies based on user behavior. Silverfort can protect systems that other vendors can’t integrate with, including homegrown and legacy applications, critical infrastructure, file systems, IoT, command-line interfaces and machine-to-machine access. The platform is positioned to prevent account takeover, ransomware and lateral movement while enabling secure cloud migrations without modifying servers or applications. The company, which has large enterprise customers worldwide and partnerships with top security vendors and channel partners, will use the new funding to expand sales, marketing, engineering and customer success teams globally. To date Silverfort has raised $41.5 million in total funding, including the newly announced $30 million Series B. Silverfort provides an AI-based policy platform that enables adaptive multi-factor authentication across entire networks and cloud environments, including systems that do not natively support MFA. Its patent-pending technology is non-intrusive and does not require deployment of software agents or inline gateways. The platform covers proprietary systems, IoT devices, shared files and folders, and industrial control systems. Silverfort targets customers across financial, healthcare, energy, legal and technology industries to secure corporate identities, protect critical assets and prevent data breaches. The solution helps organizations achieve compliance with regulations such as GDPR, PCI and HIPAA without reducing productivity. The company plans to expand its sales, marketing, security research and engineering teams in the US, Israel and Europe using the new funding.
