Overview

Silvr is a Parisian fintech scaleup that provides revenue-based working capital loans to SMEs. The company originates short-term loans for businesses registered in France and Germany and positions itself among revenue-based finance (neolender) providers. Silvr secured an additional securitised credit facility “up to” €200 million to support growth in its home market and to build on its recent acquisition of German competitor Uplift1. To date the company has raised over €300 million, the vast majority in debt funding used as working capital. Silvr says its legal infrastructure was built with European expansion in mind and the new facility will enable exploration of further growth across Europe. Silvr offers revenue-based financing to e-commerce and SaaS companies, providing capital without taking equity. It underwrites applicants by accessing corporate bank accounts, Google Analytics, e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify) and payment platforms (e.g., Stripe), and uses a proprietary scoring algorithm to assess future revenue. The company can disburse funds via wire transfers, virtual cards, or by paying partners directly for things like ad campaigns, and allows repayments via traditional monthly plans or by allocating a portion of revenue. Silvr focuses on asset-light and riskier businesses that traditional banks may not finance. It has financed 100 companies to date, including Cuure, French Bandit, Almé Paris and Emma&Chloé, and reports clients increase revenue by 64% on average two months after financing; 35% of its clients have also raised VC. Financially, Silvr has completed a $20.6M (€18M) Series A and opened a $128M (€112M) debt line to support its lending activities. Silvr offers revenue-based financing for online businesses that cannot access bank loans or prefer not to raise equity. Companies register with their digital campaign accounts, receive financing within 24 hours, and repay according to turnover. Silvr charges a commission of 6% to 9% on the financed amount while guaranteeing 100% capital retention. Around 15 online retailers have reportedly multiplied their turnover within three months after using Silvr financing. The startup plans to use the €3M to further develop its financing platform and expand across France, aiming to hire about a dozen employees and onboard 100 customers within 18 months. Silvr was founded by serial entrepreneurs Nima Karimi and Grégory Tappero and is about a year old.
