SimpleClosure

1335 23rd Street Unit 1, Santa Monica, CA, 90401, US

Overview

SimpleClosure builds software to automate and streamline the process of shutting down companies, describing itself as “the Turbo Tax of shutting down.” Founder Dori Yona created the product after being tasked with a complex shutdown analysis while exiting his prior company. The platform aims to simplify legal, financial, and administrative winddown tasks for founders and boards. Demand was strong: by February 2024 SimpleClosure had crossed seven figures in annualized revenue and saw revenue grow 12x in 2024 versus the prior year. Before the Series A the company had raised $1.5 million in pre-seed funding and an additional $4 million shortly thereafter, bringing total disclosed funding to $20.5 million. SimpleClosure is partnering with service providers, including Carta, which is offering its customers a free consultation and a 10% discount on SimpleClosure’s services. SimpleClosure provides an automated, founder‑friendly service to simplify company dissolution and wind‑down processes, leveraging fintech, legal technology and AI to execute company‑specific closure plans and resolve obligations with customers, state agencies and team members. The product reduces time spent on shutdowns from months or years to days or weeks by automating manual and bureaucratic tasks. The company launched publicly in September 2023 and has since grown its customer base more than 6x and revenue more than 14x, now surpassing seven figures in annualized revenue. Customers range from bootstrapped businesses to well‑funded startups, and current referral partners include law and accounting firms, accelerators, and startup service providers such as Mercury. SimpleClosure plans to use the new funding to increase headcount across product & engineering and go‑to‑market functions to meet growing demand. SimpleClosure is a seven-person startup building a platform to automate and accelerate company shutdowns using fintech, legal tech and artificial intelligence. Its product covers onboarding, dissolution & wind-up, and the actual shutdown, preparing legal paperwork, securing stakeholder consents, handling IP, settling financial obligations and distributing funds to investors. The company says it can complete closures in weeks for a fraction of the cost of legacy providers (which can cost upwards of $75,000 and take nearly a year); pricing varies by company size and stage. SimpleClosure has been generating revenue since day one and reports exponential growth in paying customers since June, serving startups, corporations and LLCs and planning to expand into additional segments. Founders Dori Yona (a three-time founder) and CTO Nimrod Ram plan to invest the new capital into product and engineering development as they scale the platform.
