SkyWatch is a Palo Alto-based platform that provides data analysis, risk assessment and active risk-reduction for the drone industry. Led by CEO and co-founder Tomer Kashi, the company has developed software and a mobile app to track safety metrics during flight planning, execution and post-flight. The mobile application, planned for iOS and Android in Q1 2018 for business and recreational operators, will connect to most UAVs and provide real-time hazard warnings from drone telemetry. SkyWatch calculates a proprietary 'safety score' for each flight to benchmark operator behavior and plans to offer on-demand insurance solutions in coordination with leading insurance carriers. Its platform uses AI with more than 30 drone sensors, hyper-local weather mapping, 3-D airspace and ground mapping, and crowd density mapping to predict and prevent potential failures. The company intends to use the $2M seed funding to continue building and commercializing this platform.
