Smart Immune is a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing ProTcell, a thymus-empowered T-cell therapy platform designed to fully and rapidly re-arm the immune system. ProTcell introduces allogeneic T-cell progenitors that are differentiated by the thymus into fully functional T cells, enabling an off-the-shelf T-cell medicine. The platform is already in Phase I/II clinical trials and is being evaluated for acute leukemia and inherited immune diseases in Europe and the US. Smart Immune was founded in 2017 to address life-threatening diseases such as high-risk blood cancers and primary immunodeficiencies. The company partners with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Greater Paris University Hospitals (AP-HP) and is headquartered at Paris Biotech Santé in France. Recent funding from the European Innovation Council will support ongoing trials and further development of CAR T-cell applications and bioproduction scale-up.
