Overview
Snapplify provides elearning solutions and is Africa’s largest ebook aggregator and distributor, offering over 350,000 titles from more than 250 publishers. The company serves over 1,400 schools, colleges and universities and claims to provide digital access to more than 200,000 students. Its product suite includes integrated learning tools and the Snappbox hardware distribution solution that enables schools with limited or no connectivity to access materials while saving data and download time. Snapplify works with governments and education departments to roll out elearning materials across the continent. The company raised $2 million in expansion capital to accelerate international expansion and to advance its data analytics capabilities aimed at improving classroom teaching effectiveness. Launched in 2011, Snapplify builds technology to distribute digital reading material primarily to schools and universities. Its platform allows users to access ebooks via institutional intranets rather than downloading individually over the internet, addressing patchy broadband and textbook-delivery problems. Snapplify has signed major publishers including Penguin Random House, Pearson, Oxford and Cambridge, and has won awards such as the Future Book Awards for its Snappbox distribution hub. The company is expanding its product and team across multiple countries and is actively entering markets including Brazil, Argentina, Kenya and Nigeria. Leadership says Snapplify is increasingly looking at payments and remittances and is managing a lot of money to better distribute its product. The roadmap and international expansion aim to increase accessibility to content in African education markets while protecting digital rights.
