Snipd is a Zurich-based startup building a podcast app that uses AI to transcribe episodes, generate navigable “chapters,” create highlights, and synchronize with note-taking services. The app delivers a TikTok-style personalized highlights feed that pulls short AI-selected clips (focused on newly released episodes) and also offers per-episode AI highlights, manual “snips,” and full-transcript generation. It integrates with Readwise and Notion and allows exports to Obsidian, Logseq, Bear and Markdown, and supports headphone triple-click clipping and Apple CarPlay. Snipd builds most of its AI models in-house, starting from large pre-trained language models similar to GPT-3 and fine-tuning them using user interaction signals so the system learns which segments users find most valuable. The company plans product improvements including more granular feed controls and surfacing older relevant episodes YouTube-style. Snipd launched its first iteration last August, comprises a team of five (three co-founders and two employees), and is not yet generating revenue; it intends to adopt a freemium model with ads and paid AI features.
