Founded in 2026 by Rick Röthlisberger, Simi Y. Wespi, Victor Elliesen, and Patrick Egli, Stellar Alpina develops rotating detonation rocket engines (RDREs) and in-space vehicle architectures aimed at orbital mobility, high-energy transfers, and future deep-space infrastructure. The company argues that detonative propulsion can extract more energy from the same amount of propellant than conventional deflagration engines, enabling smaller, lighter, and higher-performance systems. Within 82 days of incorporation it built test infrastructure and completed a full engine test campaign for Engine 0, conducting eight detonative hotfires and capturing footage showing up to five stable detonation waves. The article highlights these tests as the first known commercial RDRE hotfire milestones in Europe. Stellar Alpina positions its technology to address gaps in in-space mobility for satellite repositioning, in-space servicing, and lunar transfer architectures. Its chips use a proprietary multi-core architecture (eight or more cores) engineered to maximize performance per watt compared with single- or dual-core approaches. The company targets applications such as smart glasses, always-on camera tracking in smartphones, and other wearable form factors that require continuous perception without high power draw. Mosaic is building AI deployment toolchains and compilers so firmware developers can leverage its architecture and plans to transition from NRE engineering engagements to product revenues from chip sales. The platform can understand booking intent and requirements in over 100 languages, check availability across systems, validate contracts and negotiated terms, select correct rates, manage inventory and allotments, draft tailored quotes and RFPs, follow up on unanswered offers, and convert accepted offers into reservations or blocks in property management systems. Lobby says it can handle complex scenarios such as a 300-room group booking across multiple dates, different room types, events and ongoing modifications in seconds. Integrations with Gmail, Outlook and PMS systems are designed to be quick (new integrations average four days) and onboarding can take up to two days. Customers can choose full automation or a human-in-the-loop model that allows staff to review and approve quotes before sending. The company plans to expand its solution into MICE, experiences and attractions, cruises and airlines as part of its near-term growth strategy.
