Founded in 2011 by Alex Head, Social Pantry is a London-based events business and caterer known for seasonal, vibrant food and creative event menus. The company works with brands including Harvey Nichols, Facebook, Liberty, Nike, Jo Malone, Browns, Moncler and Massimo Dutti and operates cafés and sites across seven locations in the city. Since founding, Social Pantry has embedded social enterprise into its operations—about 10% of its workforce are former offenders and it partners with charities such as Key4Life, Bad Boys Bakery and Switchback. Social Pantry has announced a £1.1m investment from Edition Capital. The company says the funding will be used to expand its events and catering business, open additional sites, and further its social reform and training programmes for ex‑offenders. Founder Alex Head said the investment will help the business reach new markets and create more employment and training opportunities for people with difficult starts.
