    Founded by Irish entrepreneur Roland Horne in 2014, WatchHouse positions itself as a premium, design-led coffee brand. The company has grown to a portfolio of 25 coffeehouses spread across London, Bath, New York, and the UAE. Its core offering is specialty coffee served in architecturally distinctive spaces, with plans to evolve into a broader lifestyle brand. Recent openings include flagship sites on New York’s Fifth Avenue and in the Chrysler Building, with a Park Avenue location slated for this spring. Additional outlets are planned for London’s Millennium Bridge and Northcote Road, plus Saadiyat Grove and the Equestrian Club in Abu Dhabi. Management is prioritizing rapid U.S. expansion and entry into further international markets now “under active negotiation and consideration.” Following its latest funding round, WatchHouse is valued at £76.1 million, and the new capital is earmarked to accelerate global growth and brand development.

Management says demand for alternative sports and leisure activities is rising. The business raised a £1.5 million investment from Edition Capital to support growth. Whistle Punks plans to use the funding to expand across the UK with additional sites. Founders John Nimmons and Jools Whitehorn led the company through the transaction with legal advice from Joelson and support from Grant Thornton’s Growth Team.

  • Social Pantry

    Founded in 2011 by Alex Head, Social Pantry is a London-based events business and caterer known for seasonal, vibrant food and creative event menus. The company works with brands including Harvey Nichols, Facebook, Liberty, Nike, Jo Malone, Browns, Moncler and Massimo Dutti and operates cafés and sites across seven locations in the city. Since founding, Social Pantry has embedded social enterprise into its operations—about 10% of its workforce are former offenders and it partners with charities such as Key4Life, Bad Boys Bakery and Switchback. Social Pantry has announced a £1.1m investment from Edition Capital. The company says the funding will be used to expand its events and catering business, open additional sites, and further its social reform and training programmes for ex‑offenders. Founder Alex Head said the investment will help the business reach new markets and create more employment and training opportunities for people with difficult starts.

    Incipio Group repurposes dead spaces into multi-restaurant, bar and event venues concentrated around food and drink. The company launched in 2015 and has opened sites including Pergola on the Roof (White City), Pergola Paddington, The Prince in West Brompton Crossing, Feast pop-ups and W12 Studios. It reported strong footfall milestones — one million visitors in three years — with venue-specific early results such as 180,000 visitors to Pergola Paddington in 26.5 weeks and 100,000 visitors to The Prince in 23 weeks. Turnover rose from £1.7m in 2016 to £5.6m in 2017 and £8.9m in 2018, with projected turnover of £17.88m for 2019. The group says it is focusing on delivering large-scale sites on long-term leases and continuing to build venues that attract high customer volumes.
