Soil Capital operates a platform that pays farmers for regenerative agriculture practices and connects those practices with food and non-food companies looking to support more sustainable agriculture. The company was one of the first platforms to pay farmers and now has more than 800 engaged farmers on its platform. Soil Capital has deployed its platform in three European countries — France, the UK and Belgium — and is exploring expansion into new geographies. The firm positions regenerative agriculture as a major driver of ecological transition and says pioneers of the model have shown it can make farms more profitable and resilient to climatic contingencies. Financially, Soil Capital has announced a new €5M financing to scale its solutions and support farmers through steps for change. The team mentioned in the announcement includes Alejandro Trenor, Chuck de Liedekerke and Nicolas Verschuere.
