Overview
Soricimed, founded in 2005 and based in Moncton, develops highly targeted treatments for solid tumour cancers using a proprietary family of paralytic and anti-cancer peptides discovered in the venom of the Northern Short-tailed Shrew. Its lead candidate, SOR-C13, targets the TRPV6 calcium channel and has received FDA orphan drug designation for pancreatic and ovarian cancers. SOR-C13 has completed an investigator-initiated Phase 1 trial at MD Anderson and additional trials are ongoing. The company also has a preclinical portfolio of peptide-drug conjugates (PDCs) and peptide receptor radionuclide therapies (PRRTs). To date, Soricimed has raised more than $26 million in equity and government funding to advance its development programs. Recent funding aims to support continued clinical development and assessment of SOR-C13's efficacy.
