Space Robotic Workers is a Cantabrian aerospace firm focused on designing and manufacturing components and rigid modular habitats for space installations. Its technology allows individual habitat modules to connect, enabling the creation of larger, more complex orbital structures. The company targets both space tourists and professional astronauts who will need accommodation in future orbital facilities. A central line of R&D is its 3D-printed space module prototype, intended to demonstrate the viability of additive manufacturing for on-orbit construction. To advance this work, the firm secured €684,000 from Spain’s CDTI Innovación, a figure that finances 90 % of the €759,973 project budget. The CDTI funding is backed by the EU’s Recovery and Resilience Mechanism (MRR) and includes a non-reimbursable tranche of up to 33 %. This marks the only Cantabria-based project approved in CDTI’s January funding cohort of 36 national R&D initiatives.
