SPACER
2-2-63, Katamachi, Miyakojima-ku, Osaka-shi, Osaka, Japan
Overview
Founded in 2016, Tokyo-based SPACER manufactures, sells and operates the “SPACER” smart locker, which supports smartphone reservations and cashless payments. The lockers are already installed at major railway stations and will serve the 2025 Osaka–Kansai Expo, positioning the product as critical infrastructure for high-traffic public spaces. Facing Japan’s 2024 logistics labor crunch, the company is building a station-centric last-mile delivery network and a pickup service anchored at Tokorozawa Station. Newly raised funds will accelerate co-development and mass production of next-generation outdoor lockers with leading appliance maker Fuji Kogyo, convert railway networks into logistics hubs in partnership with Seibu Railway and regional investors, and enhance the locker’s cloud system for services such as prescription drug pickup, dry cleaning and food delivery. SPACER aims to expand installation sites nationwide and become a same-day delivery hub for “anything, anywhere.”
