Overview
SpectraWAVE develops the HyperVue™ Imaging System, a 510k-cleared intravascular imaging platform that combines DeepOCT and near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) to support coronary stenting decisions. The system emphasizes image quality and procedural efficiency with features such as no-flush catheter prep, fast and long pullbacks to reduce contrast use, and AI-driven workflow and image analysis. SpectraWAVE reported a strong reception during its initial U.S. launch and positions HyperVue as a central hub for future cath-lab enhancements. The company is also developing a wire-free physiology software add-on to assess coronary pressure drops using the same HyperVue hardware. The recent financing is intended to fund commercial expansion and product additions to HyperVue. SpectraWAVE was founded in 2017 and is located in Bedford, Mass. SpectraWAVE is developing an intracoronary medical imaging platform that integrates two state-of-the-art imaging technologies to deliver high-resolution plaque structure and content in coronary blood vessels. The product is designed to aid interventional cardiologists during stent optimization and to help assess patients' risk for future adverse events. The company announced a $13.2 million Series A-2 financing led by Deerfield Management, with follow-on investment from prior seed investors, to fund completion of product development and a regulatory filing. With the new funds SpectraWAVE will scale its team, development, and operations, and has recently appointed leaders in Image Analysis, Clinical Affairs, and Regulatory and Quality Affairs. It has also established a world-renowned Clinical Advisory Board of experts to support clinical strategy and adoption. SpectraWAVE is based in Bedford, MA and was founded in 2017.
