Specx develops hyperspectral imaging technology that analyzes wavelength data from light and has built an end-to-end platform covering satellite observation data acquisition, processing, and analysis. The startup aims to commercialize this hyperspectral capability for space applications and has pursued both public R&D and private investment to do so. It was discovered through Jeju Center for Creative Economy & Innovation’s 2024 Pre-Startup Package and became the inaugural investment of the center’s jointly managed Jeju Early-Stage Startup Fund. Specx was selected for the Deep Tech TIPS program, receiving KRW 1.5 billion in R&D funding. On June 19, Specx closed a KRW 3 billion follow-on pre-Series A round led by Triangle Partners with participation from E&Venture Partners and JX Partners. The combined public and private funding is intended to advance commercialization and further development of its hyperspectral imaging offerings.
