Spoke builds a music-therapy app that combines music and mindfulness prompts to deliver what it calls "functional music" aimed mainly at Gen Z. The product was developed over 18 months of R&D with modern musical artists and scientific advisors. Rather than relying on AI, Spoke employs artists trained by clinical psychologists, therapists and neuroscientists to produce music intended to help users reach desired mental states. The company says it is working with more than 25 artists, including Jordy, VIC and Jamilah Barry; its creative team includes lead artist Lemzi and executive producer Daniel Miles. A clinical trial is planned to test the approach. Financially, Spoke has secured a £1.1 million pre-seed round led by Ada Ventures with participation from Bethnal Green Ventures and multiple U.K. angel investors.
