Spotscale
Storgatan 42, Linköping, Östergötlands Län, Sweden
Overview
Spotscale deploys multi-rotor drones to produce accurate digital and physical 3D models of buildings and surrounding environments for customers in real estate and construction. The company has been operating for 18 months and initially benefited from Sweden’s relatively relaxed drone regulations to win its first customers. Founder Ludvig Emgard has prior experience in 3D mapping, having been Head of Product in the founding team at C3 Technologies, which was bought by Apple in 2011 for what was thought to be around $240M. Up until the raise Spotscale had been bootstrapping; the new capital is intended to accelerate development of its drone technology and scale operations. The company positions itself to take advantage of increasing acceptance of 3D printing, drones, augmented reality and virtual reality, sitting at the intersection of those technologies.
