Stae builds a platform to help cities collect, manage and process infrastructure data. The product standardizes disparate municipal datasets by turning them into APIs, provides a single interface for data access and granular authorization, and links datasets to enable combined analysis. Stae positions itself as a GitHub-meets-IFTTT for infrastructure data and aims to make existing infrastructure more efficient through technology. Atlanta and Jersey City have started implementing Stae as part of their digital strategies, with Jersey City attempting to use it as a central repository. The company says combining and analyzing multiple datasets remains a work in progress given constrained municipal budgets and limited in-house data science capacity. Stae raised $1.5 million from Story Ventures, Fontinalis Partners and Samsung Next.
