Overview
StarLeaf sells cloud-based video and conferencing services via its StarLeaf OpenCloud global video communications network. The platform is fully owned and operated with eight points of presence across North America, Europe, Asia and Australasia, offering AES-128 encryption, redundancy, resilient codecs, dynamic bandwidth management and a single dashboard management portal. StarLeaf emphasizes interoperability with third-party meeting technologies and user-friendly endpoint features such as screen sharing, call transfer, participant additions and a centrally managed address book. The company began selling cloud services in 2013 and says usage is doubling year-over-year, reporting more than 100 million annual call minutes and over 1,000 customers across 50 countries. Customers include Travelex, Bose and Dr Martens, and enterprise signups with 1,000+ employee customers grew from 65 in 2015 to 150 in 2016. The new funding will be used to support growth—including stepping up Asia Pacific activity—and the company intends to double its 130-strong headcount within 18 months.
