StemX Bio
Galileiweg 8, Leiden, Zuid-Holland, 2333 BD, The Netherlands
Overview
StemX Bio creates 3D human pancreatic microtissues—pseudoislets—that mimic native islet insulin release in response to glucose for use by pharma and biotech teams to test drugs and gene therapies. In 2025 the company signed its first paying pilot clients, including a gene therapy study for a US-listed firm. StemX moved into a dedicated lab at Biopartner 3 earlier in the year and won the Golden PLNT "Startup in Absence" award in December. The team has initiated a Eurostars consortium to expand the platform to a second human tissue type. Financially, StemX closed a pre-seed with €350k committed by UNIIQ and LEH and has opened a €3M Seed round, with initial investor conversations underway.
