Stickerbox, created by Brooklyn-based startup Hapiko, is an AI-enabled toy that lets children press a button, describe an image aloud, and instantly receive a printed thermal sticker based on that prompt. The red, Etch-A-Sketch-sized device costs $99.99 and ships with three BPA- and BPS-free paper rolls (about 180 stickers) plus colored pencils. It combines several AI models, including proprietary safety layers that block violent, sexual, or profane content, making it a parent-friendly product. Revenue today comes from hardware sales and low-margin paper refills priced at $5.99 for three rolls, while future monetization could include premium features such as uploading personal photos, collaborative tools, and content saved via an upcoming companion app. Because the printer is Wi-Fi connected, Hapiko can push new firmware, guardrails, and feature updates over the air. The company was founded in 2023 by CEO Arun Gupta and CTO Robert (Bob) Whitney, who previously worked together at fashion marketplace Grailed. To date, Stickerbox has secured $7 million in venture backing from consumer-focused investors.
