Suiso develops an innovative hydrogen generator using a novel microwave technology to extract hydrogen from natural gas or biogas while capturing the carbon as carbon black. The process is intended to produce low-cost, low-carbon or zero-carbon energy and yields carbon black that can be used in tyres, batteries and inks. The company plans to manufacture generators the size of shipping containers for onsite deployment to power factories, hospitals, warehouses, or to serve as filling-station units for hydrogen vehicles. Suiso is led by CEO Stuart McKnight. The company raised £3M in funding to advance development and move the technology toward market deployment. Management says the investment will help overcome cost, availability and practical barriers to wider hydrogen adoption.
