Bimsense develops Operance, a mobile-first digital operations and maintenance (O&M) platform that captures building intelligence and supports the 'golden thread' of safety across a building's lifecycle. The company says Operance helps owners and managers demonstrate that safety has been considered from design and construction through to ongoing management. Bimsense plans to use the new funding to build modules that address further requirements of the Building Safety Act, in particular registering high-rise residential buildings (HRBs) and producing safety case reports. Operance was developed in 2020 with initial investment support from NPIF – Mercia Equity Finance. The business was founded in 2016 by Ian Yeo and Scott Pilgrim and is used by customers including GallifordTry, REDS10, Algeco, Morrison Construction and RLB. Bimsense has also won multiple industry awards.
