    Libertine FPE develops 'smart engines' for electric vehicles and distributed power generation, designing e-machines and control technology used in its intelliGEN modules. The company is building and planning demonstrations of prototype intelliGEN smart engine modules. The new capital will enable construction and demonstration of prototypes, engagement with automotive manufacturers, and further business development ahead of a planned Series A in 2020. Libertine has raised over £4.8m to date, including the recent £770k round. The company currently employs seven staff and expects to create a further five jobs in the year ahead.

    Lightpoint Medical develops intraoperative imaging products, notably a robotic laparoscopic probe designed to detect cancer in real time and the LightPath® Imaging System. The LightPath system has already achieved commercial sales throughout Europe. The laparoscopic probe is intended to bring real-time cancer detection to minimally invasive and robotic surgery to improve tissue-sparing and clinical outcomes. The company will use new funding to commercialise the laparoscopic probe and support commercial growth of the LightPath system. It has secured a £5 million financing and previously raised more than £3 million in grant funding from the Horizon 2020 SME Instrument and Innovate UK. Management says the funds will prepare the company for commercial scale-up and a commercial launch of the laparoscopic probe. Lightpoint Medical, based in Rickmansworth, United Kingdom and Cambridge, Massachusetts, develops the EnLight™ fiberscope system that uses molecular imaging to reveal microscopic cancer deposits. The technology is intended to enable surgeons to identify cancerous tissue during procedures. The company will use the awarded funds to support clinical trials of EnLight™ in lymph node cancer and a range of gynecologic cancers at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). Lightpoint will collaborate on the research with MSK’s Drs. Jan Grimm and Nadeem Abu-Rustum. Lightpoint Medical is a Rickmansworth, UK–based developer of innovative imaging technologies for cancer surgery. The technology is intended to help surgeons detect cancer in real time during surgery, providing more accurate treatment while sparing healthy tissue. In June 2013 the company raised £175K (approximately $270K) in seed funding. The round involved a mix of institutional and angel investors led by Oxford Technology Management.

    Ebury provides cross-border payments and foreign-exchange services for small and medium-sized enterprises. The company operates with regulatory reach across 30 markets and maintains an established technology stack to support multi-currency and cross-border workflows. Ebury plans to use the recent financing to scale operations, develop new products, expand into additional geographies, and strengthen AI capabilities for payment processing and FX optimisation. Santander will remain the majority shareholder with a 55% stake and will continue to account for Ebury as its primary SME cross-border payments platform prior to the contemplated accounting change. The funding transaction includes both primary and secondary components and is being completed in two closings subject to regulatory approvals, expected by Q1 2027. The round also brings Centerbridge Partners into the shareholder base alongside existing investors such as Vitruvian Partners and 83North.

    Loco2 is a pan-European rail-only booking startup that aggregates rail operator inventory to let users book and print tickets, including advanced discount Turista Promo fares on Spain's Renfe. The Renfe partnership adds about 1,605 stations and access to roughly 1,400km of Spain's high-speed network, expanding comprehensive coverage to the U.K., France, Germany and Spain and enabling bookings across roughly a dozen European countries (with limited coverage in some markets). The service supports print-at-home tickets and postal tickets where required, and the company integrated with the U.K.'s central booking system to allow U.K. origin bookings into continental Europe. Loco2 says traffic has grown ~380% year-over-year (comparing February to the same month the prior year). Future plans cited include improving coverage in Belgium and the Netherlands and enhancing timetable data to handle more complex pan-European itineraries. Financially, the company has been funded through seed and angel rounds and recently closed another angel round, bringing total funding to date to £1 million. Loco2 operates a proprietary online platform that allows customers to search and book single- and multi-leg train journeys across Europe through one interface. Launched in April 2012 and based in London, the company has established contracts with major operators SNCF and Deutsche Bahn. It also maintains partnerships with travel site Seat61 and the Guardian (Guardian Trains). Led by Managing Director Jamie Andrews, Loco2 recently raised external funding and intends to use the proceeds to continue expanding operations.
