Smart Beta for Early stage investing - Fund Twenty8 The fund is the first passive EIS fund for early stage investments. It will deliver a multi-sector and large portfolio for investors. They believe Fund Twenty8 addresses two key areas currently underserved by the EIS fund market. A lack of sector diversification within a fund and a failure to benefit from a wide portfolio approach investing. Traditional early stage funds usually focus on a single sector (exposing investors to sector-specific risks) and usually only invest in 5 to 8 investments per fund. They feel there is a need in the market for a multi-sector and large portfolio fund for early stage investments. That's why they created Fund Twenty8. Fund Twenty8 offers investors access to a diversified portfolio with at least 28 investments per fund and across multiple sectors.

EnteroBiotix is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on full-spectrum microbiome therapeutics. Its lead product, EBX-102-02, is a next-generation full-spectrum microbiome therapeutic manufactured with proprietary processing technologies intended to enable safe, stable, orally delivered microbial ecosystem restoration. The company positions EBX-102-02 as a potential first disease-modifying therapy for IBS-C and advanced the candidate into a Phase 2b program following positive Phase 2a TrIuMPH trial results in 122 patients. The RISE Phase 2b trial is randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled and plans to enroll around 300 patients in the UK, with first dosing expected in Q2 2026 and topline data due in H2 2027. Lightpoint Medical develops intraoperative imaging products, notably a robotic laparoscopic probe designed to detect cancer in real time and the LightPath® Imaging System. The LightPath system has already achieved commercial sales throughout Europe. The laparoscopic probe is intended to bring real-time cancer detection to minimally invasive and robotic surgery to improve tissue-sparing and clinical outcomes. The company will use new funding to commercialise the laparoscopic probe and support commercial growth of the LightPath system. In June 2013 the company raised £175K (approximately $270K) in seed funding. The round involved a mix of institutional and angel investors led by Oxford Technology Management.
