Amsterdam-based Sumthing runs an online platform where individuals and companies can fund nature-restoration projects and then follow the impact through regularly updated photos, videos and satellite images. The site currently hosts more than 30 projects worldwide, ranging from reforestation in Scotland to seagrass planting in Spain. Over the past four years, the platform has processed more than €2.5 million in donations, with €5 of every €6 given flowing directly to field projects. Sumthing’s steward-ownership structure prioritises long-term ecological impact over short-term profit, which the company highlights as a key differentiator. The new capital will be used to grow brand awareness, boost donation volumes and expand across Europe so that supporting nature restoration becomes a mainstream behavior. To strengthen its scientific rigor, the firm has appointed University of Cambridge professor Rachael Garret as Head of Science.
