Overview
Swave develops HXR gigapixel holographic chips based on proprietary diffractive photonics aimed at delivering lifelike, high-resolution 3D images viewable without headsets or glasses. Its HXR technology claims to provide ~1000x greater pixel resolution with billions of tiny pixels and addresses focal depth and eye-tracking limitations. The chips are manufactured using standard CMOS processes to enable cost-effective scaling, with planned chip sizes ranging from 0.5 cm x 0.5 cm for wearables to 2 cm x 2 cm for ultra-high-end displays. Target applications include metaverse platforms, 360-degree holographic walls, 3D gaming, AR/VR/XR glasses, collaborative video conferencing, and automotive and aerospace heads-up displays. Swave plans partnerships with AR/VR/XR and metaverse platforms and aims to commercialize HXR technology across those markets. The company announced a €7M Seed raise and says proceeds will fund commercialization and expansion of its management and engineering teams.
