Switch is a NYC-based mobile job search platform founded in 2014 by CEO Yarden Tadmor and launched in January 2015. The app (iOS and Android) leverages algorithms to match candidates with companies across advertising, technology, media, banking, hedge funds and retail. Switch is attracting corporate recruiters and hiring managers at companies including Yahoo, Google, Facebook, Twitter, Tesla, Microsoft, Citi, NBCUniversal, MediaCom, MRM//McCann, Uber and Amazon. Its pricing is performance-based: companies pay only when qualified candidates express interest and apply (for example, $99 for 10 applicants or $999 for 150 applicants). The company is also beta testing a cost-per-hire model in which companies pay a flat fee only when they make a hire. Switch has raised $6.4M in total funding. Switch offers an algorithmic, Tinder-like interface that lets users anonymously swipe right or left on job postings and, upon a mutual match, message employers. Profiles show only three past companies (editable) and automatically block those employers from viewing the profile to preserve anonymity; matched employers see full profile details. The service aggregates job listings from across the web and uses its dataset to surface differences in pay and role characteristics across locations. Switch reports roughly 400,000 job applications and more than 2 million swipes, and lists employers including Facebook, Amazon, Wikipedia, eBay, Imgur, and the New York Times; nine of the top 50 sites in the U.S. are on the platform. The product is currently free for users, and the company plans to introduce a subscription model for employers seeking candidates. Switch is available on iOS.
