The company says it currently protects the accounts of half a million users across 32 countries. Founded in 2010, SysCloud plans to use new funding to expand support beyond Google Apps to other cloud applications such as Office 365, Salesforce, Dropbox and Box. The service faces competitive pressure from vendors like CloudLock and Backupify and the risk that platform providers such as Google may add similar native security and auditing features. SysCloud positions itself as a single pane of glass to apply uniform policies across clouds rather than requiring customers to program policies into each vendor's management panel.
