Tan90 develops energy-efficient thermal management solutions aimed at reducing energy use and emissions across industries. Founded in January 2019 by PhD graduates from IIT Madras Soumalya Mukherjee, Rajani Kant Rai, and Shiv Sharma, the startup focuses on industrial and cold-chain cooling challenges. The company says it has cut carbon emissions in processes by more than 25% and reduced operational costs for clients by 40%. Tan90 will invest in R&D specifically in space cooling and data centre cooling and plans to introduce a cold-chain model called "Cooling as a Service" (CaaS) to lease cooling solutions to businesses that lack blast freezers for thermal batteries. The startup intends to use funding to expand overseas with a focus on the Southeast Asian market and to expand its footprint in major Indian cities including Mumbai, Kolkata, Kochi and Visakhapatnam in the coming quarter. Investors highlighted strong demand linkages to food, pharma, energy, logistics and transport sectors as supporting growth potential.
