Overview

Taykey’s core product is a trends-discovery engine and real-time programmatic advertising solution that mines data from thousands of online sources to find what’s trending for specific audiences and automate media buying. The company has launched a new marketing platform to broaden applications of its real-time advertising solution across social media content, audience insights and market analytics. Taykey links to leading ad platforms and existing media platforms so trends-based insights can be activated everywhere. The company executed more than 1,000 real-time advertising campaigns and reports revenue growth of 600% since January 2013. Its customer roster includes many Fortune 500 brands — AT&T, Verizon, Procter & Gamble, Disney, Marriott, MasterCard, Microsoft, Google, Starbucks and Toyota — and seven out of 10 of the top U.S. advertisers are Taykey clients. Taykey operates a media-buying platform that allows brands to deliver ads based on topical interests. The company is based in New York and Israel and was founded by CEO Amit Avner. In 2013 to date the company has run over 100 campaigns. Taykey raised $6m in its third funding and said it will use the proceeds to expand its team with hires across sales, engineering, ad operations and product. Tenaya Capital participated in the financing alongside existing investors Sequoia Capital, SoftBank Capital and Marker. Following the round, Adam Klee joined as VP of Media Operations overseeing client services, technical account management and ad operations, and Carmit Tevet-Kuzy joined as VP of Finance. Taykey builds a real-time social-ad targeting platform that identifies trending topics among specific audience groups and serves ads to those interest-based audiences. The company determines what people are interested in from public social media signals and responds with Facebook ads, promoted Twitter trends, or search ads. Taykey aggregates anonymous data from about 150 social media services, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, MySpace, and Digg. Advertisers are charged on a cost-per-action basis, with outcomes ranging from cost-per-like to redemption of an offer. The product aims to move ad targeting from broad demographics to interest-driven audiences by discovering what is trending for particular groups and acting in real time. CEO Amit Avner leads the company as it scales its targeting and ad placement capabilities following recent funding.
