Tayside Flow Technologies
Unit 22, Prospect Business Centre, Gemini Crescent, Dundee Technology Park, Dundee, Angus, DD2 1TY, United Kingdom
Overview
Tayside Flow Technologies develops and commercialises novel cardiovascular devices founded on a Spiral Laminar Flow understanding of blood flow dynamics, with a lead peripheral vascular graft (PVG) used to bypass blocked arteries. The company was formed in 1998 as a spin-out from Tayside University Hospitals NHS Trust and is based in Dundee, UK. It has secured regulatory approval for the PVG in both the European and US markets, with further approvals anticipated in 2010. A second product, an access graft (AVG) for use mainly in dialysis patients, is planned for launch in mid-2010. The recent financing will provide working capital to accelerate the roll out of the PVG. Braveheart and other long-term supporters have repeatedly participated in the company’s funding history.
