Tecalum Industrial manufactures aluminum products and processes parts and components for multiple industry sectors. Founded in 1989 by a group of engineers and led by Felix Jorba, the company serves customers including Alstom, Talgo, Treves y Antolín, Saheco, Resol and Ensto. The company employs approximately 100 people and reported turnover of €13m in 2014. Tecalum raised €4.3m in funding. Backers included Caixa Innvierte Industria (the fund managed by Caixa Capital Risc) with participation from the Center for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI) under the INNVIERTE Program, and the Institut Català de Finances. The company intends to use the funds to build a production facility in Quebec, Canada, and to enter the American market.
