Overview
Teton.ai is a Copenhagen-based predictive intelligence company that builds AI and computer vision technology for healthcare settings. Its platform is custom-built for healthcare, aiming to provide clarity, deliver foresight, enable action and drive outcomes. The company started with senior care communities and hospitals and says its technology can generate significant benefits in any healthcare environment worldwide. Led by CEO Mikkel Wad Thorsen, Teton.ai also maintains an office in San Francisco, CA. The company raised $20M in a Series A and intends to use the funds to expand operations and its development efforts. The Series A round was led by Plural, with participation from Bertelsmann Investments, Antler Elevate, Nebular and PSV Tech. Teton.ai builds an AI companion for nurses that provides a holistic overview of ward activity to alert staff when care is needed. Its system uses cameras and computer vision to monitor sleep, issue fall warnings, detect bed sore or ulcer risks, prompt mobilisation reminders, and automate regular documentation to reduce administrative pressure on nurses. Analysis happens within a closed system and no personal data is uploaded to a central server to protect patient confidentiality and privacy. The company raised $5.3M and plans to use the funds to expand engineering and commercial teams to roll out the product in Denmark and internationally, targeting the wider Nordic region and further into Europe, Germany, the UK and the US. In Denmark it already works with hospitals including Nykøbing Falster Hospital and Næstved Hospital and expects to have over 25 employees by the end of the year. Eventually Teton.ai intends to build a full virtual nurse to support critical healthcare workers across the hospital.
