Overview
theCut offers a mobile app that combines consumer-facing discovery—barber profiles, photos, ratings, service listings and pricing—with back-end tools for barbers to manage appointments, mobile payments, client lists, notes and photos. Founders Obi Omile Jr. and Kush Patel created the app after poor personal experiences finding reliable barbers. Since launch the company says it has generated more than $500 million in revenue for barbers, is adding over 100,000 users each month and averages 1.5 million appointment bookings monthly. The startup plans to use the new funding to hire talent, increase marketing and grow the business across the country. Product road map items include a digital store, a card reader to process more in-person payments, and features to deepen barber–customer relationships. theCut was founded in 2016 and has raised $5.35 million in total funding to date.
