THEMA is a Paris-based company that develops and distributes thematic, generalist and ethnic TV channels worldwide. Founded in 2005 by François Thiellet, the company has developed over 50 TV channels around the world. THEMA has built relationships with major pay-TV platforms in France, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Its partners include major international media groups such as Digiturk, MBC Group, ART, ROTANA and ZEE Networks. THEMA raised €6m in funding from TIME Equity Partners. The company intends to use the funding to develop its distribution activities and Web, Connected, and Mobile TV channels.
