The company is operating from the Imperial College Incubator and has licensed NSKI-related intellectual property. It has an exclusive drug discovery collaboration with RespiVert to identify novel NSKIs and retains exclusive rights to those with applications in treating uveitis and inflammatory bowel disease. RespiVert retains global exclusive rights to NSKIs applicable to asthma, COPD, cystic fibrosis and other inflammatory lung diseases. TopiVert intends to use the new funds to further develop its NSKI technology. The company previously raised funding in a prior round reported in 2011. TopiVert is developing topical medicines that target inflammatory diseases of the eye and gut using narrow spectrum kinase inhibitors (NSKIs). The company licensed NSKI-related intellectual property from RespiVert Ltd. for exclusive use in discovering and developing NSKIs for those indications. TopiVert and RespiVert will enter an exclusive drug discovery collaboration to identify new NSKIs, with TopiVert holding exclusive rights to select and develop resulting candidates for eye and gut conditions such as uveitis and inflammatory bowel disease. RespiVert will retain rights to develop resulting NSKIs for other indications, including inflammatory lung diseases. TopiVert is led by Chairman Allan Baxter and Chief Scientific Officer Steve Webber, will operate from the Imperial College Incubator, and has raised £8m in funding from Imperial Innovations Group and SV Life Sciences.
