Trendabl operates an Instagram-like platform focused on fashion photos where users take pictures, tag items with descriptive information such as brand, and share them with the Trendabl community. The app enables users to follow friends as well as brands, retailers, magazines and celebrities, and currently exists as an iOS app. The company says it is looking to expand to the web and is exploring how to incorporate commerce into the app. Trendabl has signed a number of well-known fashion brands to use the service, including Michael Kors, Barneys New York, Diane Von Furstenberg, Carolina Herrera, Monique Lhuillier, BCBG, Elizabeth and James, and Nicky Hilton. Advisors include Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen and Angelo Sotira. The startup faces competition from Go Try It On, Chicisimo, Polyvore, and Fashism.
